- WASHINGTON, DC - The Keelen Group, LLC (TKG) is pleased to announce that Frank McCarthy has joined the firm as Senior Vice President. McCarthy, who most recently served as Senior Political and Legislative Representative for the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), brings a diverse set of skills and experience to the growing boutique firm. In addition to continuing his work with NATCA, Frank will provide support for the firm’s growing list of transportation and labor-related clients. “Frank brings and new level of enthusiasm and creative thought to our practice,” said Matt Keelen, President and Founder of TKG. “Our clients will certainly benefit from his experience, pragmatism, and concern for sound public policy.” Prior to his work at NATCA, Frank spent six years working on transportation and labor issues on Capitol Hill. He began as a legislative staffer on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee under Pennsylvania Congressman Bud Shuster and his successor, Don Young of Alaska. During his tenure he worked extensively on the historic Railroad Retirement and Survivors’ Improvement Act of 2001. Following his work with the transportation committee, Frank accepted a position with his hometown congresswoman, Sue Kelly, where he focused primarily on the congresswoman’s Transportation Committee assignment. In this role he helped secure critical funding for Hudson Valley highway, water, construction and infrastructure projects, including a new control tower and access road at Stewart International Airport (SWF). In addition to transportation portfolio, Frank was also charged with handling a variety of policy issues, including labor, the environment, defense, energy, taxes, and the federal budget. Frank studied journalism at New York University, Political Science at the State University of New York at Albany, and Communications and Media Arts at Dutchess Community College. Before moving to Washington, DC, Frank spent time as a sports reporter covering a Tampa Bay Rays’ minor league baseball affiliate and worked on several political campaigns in New York. Frank and his wife Richette live in Alexandria, VA with their two daughters.
