Wayne T. Franke is the owner of MJWT Consulting, a political and marketing company located in Austin. He is also a founding partner in Business Partners, Ltd, a political and business development consulting firm located in Austin. And a Senior Advisor at The Keelen Group. 

 

Wayne graduated from Central High School in San Angelo, TX in 1968 and from Angelo State University in San Angelo in 1972. Prior to starting and owning MJWT and being a partner in Business Partners, Ltd, Wayne began his career with GTE while attending college at ASU and spent 29.5 years with the company until he retired in

 

Some of the highlights of his career are: being named GTE Southwest Salesman of the Year in 1974, GTE Corporation’s Lobbyist of the Year in 1987 and 1991, and being a member of Speaker Jim Wright’s Congressional Delegation to the Soviet Union in 1987. He was named one of the Ten Rising Stars of Texas Business by Texas Business Magazine in 1988, and in 1989 was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. In October 1989, the San Angelo City Council honored Wayne by having “Wayne Franke Day.” In 1992-93, Wayne received GTE’s External Team Excellence Award and in 1992 received GTE’s Strive for Excellence Award. Wayne was honored to serve as Chairman of the Texas Sesquicentennial Celebration held on the grounds of the State Capitol in 1996. He has been listed in Who’s       

Wayne has been and continues to be involved in many civic activities. Highlights include having completed terms on the Boards of the Angelo State University Alumni Association, West Texas Boys Ranch Foundation, and Hays Independent School District Education Foundation. Highlights of Wayne’s current involvement are the Boards of the John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Foundation, the Angelo State University Foundation-currently serving as Chairman, and ASU President’s Circle. He recently completed a term on the St. Paul’s Catholic Church Pastoral Council. Wayne believes strongly in staying in touch with family and professional and personal friends. On April 6, 2012, Wayne was featured in articles in the New York Times and Texas Tribune newspapers on how he stays in touch with family, friends, and business associates.
